Learning underpins everything I do. I practice, research, write, teach and mentor, tailoring training sessions to the age, abilities and interests of the people with whom I am working.

I am presently teaching intercultural storytelling and applied theatre at University of Leeds. I have taught outdoor arts, applied theatre, processes of performance, puppetry, mask and visual theatre to University Students in the UK, Turkey and Slovenia, as well as to other artists and my peers.  In 2013, I published a book on outdoor arts, this is available in print or e-reader. Further articles, research and writing can be found on my blog.

I run conferences on outdoor and community arts, training sessions on producing community events to community workers, civil servants and artists and, through my role as Associate Producer at Creative Scene, have supported and mentored 5 volunteer run festivals in North Kirklees.

I enjoy using creativity to pass on skills and explore social issues that are relevant to people. I design bespoke creative workshops and consultations on issues such as citizenship, homelessness, drug misuse, teenage pregnancy, healthy lifestyles, bullying and life choices. I am comfortable working with disadvantaged communities, young people, people with physical and learning disabilities, prisoners, young offenders, refugees and asylum seekers and I continue to explore community arts work as freelance Co-Director of Edgelands Arts

You were so generous in sharing  your puppet teaching with us. I , my students and rest of the group  learned so much from you. You are a great teacher. Now we need to see how we can bring you to Eskisehir to work more." Dr Ebru Gökdağ, Associate Professor, Performing Arts, Anadolu University, Turkey
